Emerging Young Leaders
The Emerging Young Leaders (EYL) is the 2010-2014 signature program of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. for middle school girls. The objective of the EYL program is to help alleviate problems concerning women and girls as they improve social stature and help maintain a progressive interest in college life as they prepare “to be of service to all mankind.” This signature program will impact middle school girls by offering tools to help develop life-long skills in the following areas:
- Advocacy
- Community Service
- Environmental Sustainability
- Financial Literacy
- Higher Education
- Leadership
- Non-Traditional Careers
- Technology
Kappa Zeta's Emerging Young Leaders (EYL) Mentoring Program will assist middle school girls from underserved communities in the Greater Pittsburgh Area (grades 6th, 7th and 8th) develop their skills and talents to become the next generation of educated women leaders.The chapter will deliver the girls with several learning opportunities through four main AKAdemies: Leadership Development, Educational Enrichment, Civic Engagement, and Character Building.
